Social Skills Group – Winter 2020 Session

Dates: Week of 1/13/20 – Week of 05/11/20

Group sessions will include:
Learn to Move, Move to Learn Curriculum
Sensory, play-based and instruction with creative theme-based group lessons, this resource follows a developmental sequence with seven activities related to each theme.

Social Thinking Curriculum
Method for teaching social-cognitive and communicative skills to students who have these challenges that affect their school and home life. Children and adults with high-functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, nonverbal learning disability, ADHD and similar difficulties, diagnosed and undiagnosed, have benefited from these methods.

Requirements/Information:

Evaluation/Authorization is required prior to being considered for placement in a group.

  • Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or Pragmatic Language Disorder is required.
  • Communication partners are required to be placed in a group.
  • Group sessions will be used to target pragmatic language goals on the treatment plan for 45 minutes – 1 hour (dependent on group size) 1 time per week. Currently available in our Richardson Location and Carrollton Location. May be available in Garland Office.
  • Payment for the speech group therapy session is based upon insurance rates and self-pay is available for families who do not have insurance.
